For me, it was a bit of power rangers when I was younger (though my parents didn't want me watching it due to violence) and I watched some Masked Rider Black too (which was apparently OK!). Went searching for MRBlack again in my early 20s and came across TV-Nihon, ended up just binge watching Kamen Rider...

How did you get into live action anime then?

Back in the ancient year of 2011, a kid I knew from school was playing Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO on the PSP on the bus. The whole time I was lowkey watching him play, as he was sitting right next to me. I was intrigued by the cool-ass designs of these characters and I wanted to know more. So that day when I got home I googled something like "japanese psp games" or something. It took me a few to find it but once I did, boy, you could not STOP me from near OBSESSING over these shows. Keep in mind at that time I was just a wee 14 y/o girl at that point so I guess obsessing over something like that was normal??

That's really cool! I'm glad you found out about Toku, and in such a different way!

It started with watching Power Rangers for me; I also was watching Masked Rider, VR Troopers and Beetleborgs. In the 2000's I came across Ultraman Tiga. Eventually I learned about Super Sentai and checked out Shinkenger while it was still airing because...Power Rangers combined with samurai...what's not to like?! After that I got into Kamen Rider and now...here I am.

Started off same as above, Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Masked Rider and Beetleborgs and anything else Fox Kids had to offer back in the day.

Stayed with Power Rangers into adulthood but while downloading episodes for some anime I was watching at the time I found out about Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, it had literally just started, great timing! and that was it, loved it, needed more, started to discover "toku" now i can get my fix with KRDL!

Was really into PR as a kid. OK, so it was only Dino Thunder and also very few episodes. I live in a, I guess you can say remote country, and while PR did air on my TV, I never really gotten into it and never followed it. I bought a few DVDs of Dino Thunder and one of SPD, but that was it. That was until I learned how to use the INTERNET, about 10 years of age. I was born in 2001. I know, weird. There are periods where I would search some old stuff I watched on TV and one day decided to find out more about PR. That was how I got into Toku. One weird thing is that while I knew about the Super Sentai series for a long time, I never got to watch a full series until years later. Before that, I would mostly watch clips of it on Youtube. It really clicked with me. My first full series was Gokaiger and it was awesome. I'm glad I got into Toku. And it should be noted that I was also an Ultraman fan growing up, but I consider Super Sentai to be the pathway for me becoming an avid Toku fan.

Captain Cosmic brought Space Giants (Magma Taishi), Ultraman, and Spectreman to my area on Channel 2 out of San Francisco in the late 70's. My school library also had a manga full of different stories. It was probably Shonen Jump. My favorite segment was a super sentai story. I couldn't read Japanese and didn't understand how to follow from panel to panel at the time but I really loved looking through all the pictures.

On a side note, I was living in Kawasaki City in 1992 when the latest super sentai show was Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. It was really fun to see it come to America as the Power Rangers!

It was the old school Sentai shows aired on TV back when I was a kid, but an article on an Anime magazine published in summer of 2001 made me get into Toku, before entering high school.
